Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Sterenn Olsen Colours, our paints and ordering from us
What makes Sterenn Olsen Colours different?
Sterenn Olsen Colours is inspired by the landscapes, seasons and quiet beauty of Scandinavia. Each shade is thoughtfully created to tell the story of a place, a season or a fleeting moment in nature, bringing colour with meaning into your home.
What finish is Sterenn Olsen Colours paint?
Our interior paints are available in a beautiful matte emulsion finish, designed to create a soft, sophisticated look with minimal shine. The matte finish allows each colour to reveal its depth and character while creating a calm, refined backdrop for your home.
What sises are available?
Sterenn Olsen Colours is available in 2.5 L and 5 L tins, allowing you to choose the size that best suits your project. Available sizes can be selected directly from each individual product page.
How do i choose the right colour?
Choosing colour is personal, and the way a shade appears can change depending on natural light, artificial lighting and the surrounding colours in your room. We recommend exploring our room inspiration and colour imagery to see how each shade can transform a space before making your choice.
How much paint will i need?
The amount of paint you’ll need will depend on the size and condition of your walls, the colour you’re painting over and the number of coats required. We recommend measuring your space carefully before ordering and allowing enough paint to complete your project consistently.
Will I need to prepare my walls before painting?
For the best possible finish, we recommend preparing your walls before painting. Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust, grease or loose material. Fill and sand any imperfections where necessary, and use a suitable primer on new, bare or particularly porous surfaces before applying your chosen Sterenn Olsen colour.
How many coats will I need?
The number of coats required can vary depending on the surface, its existing colour and the shade you have chosen. For an even, beautifully finished result, we generally recommend applying two coats after the surface has been properly prepared. Some surfaces or significant colour changes may require additional preparation or coats.
How long should I wait between coats?
Drying and recoat times can vary depending on temperature, humidity, ventilation and the surface being painted. Please refer to the application instructions provided with your Sterenn Olsen Colours paint for the recommended drying and recoat times, and always allow each coat to dry properly before applying the next.
